Coming from a true racing family, Tristan Van Wieringen began racing in motocross in 2002 at the age of 4 which seemed destined given his father, Murray, enjoyed a successful motocross and road racing career which started in his teen years.
With the passion for speed and a family of racers, Tristan who resides in Amherstburg, Ontario, spent nearly every weekend trekking across Canada and the US and continues to today. Having spent four years in motocross, he transitioned to WKA Karting in 2007 where over the next five years he would amass five wins, 37 top-five and 66 top-10 finishes along with the 2010 WKA Regional Karting Championship.
2012 brought another change as Tristan turned to open wheel modifieds racing events at some of Michigan’s popular tracks including Springport Speedway, where he captured his first modified win. In 2013 and 2014 Tristan and his DuroByte Motorsports team ventured into Pro Late Model action and this season the 17-year old will contend for the Owosso (MI) Speedway track championship in the Mods division, while also making a championship run on the ICAR Top Speed Mod Tour in the No. 81 DuroByte entry.
2016 Tristan made limited appearances in the CRA Super Series and Jegs All Star Tour. Out of his 6 Jegs All Star Tour events he claimed 4 poles. Tristan tied for the Boyne Qualifier award due to the fact one of the events rained off and was not officially included in the year end points.
